Refund Policy

POLICY purpose:
This policy provides the Board of Directors, Committee Members and Membership with instructions on how refunds are handled at the Tavistock & District Skating Club.

This policy applies to the Board of Directors, Committee Members and Membership of the Tavistock & District Skating Club.

POLICY statement:
Board and Committee Members understand that from time-to-time refunds may be requested or/and are warranted due to injury or re-location of skaters and their families. This policy establishes the framework within which Tavistock & District Skating Club operates its business, in terms of refunds. The purpose of this guidelines is to provide general direction so that board and committee members are aware of how refunds are handled when a request is made.

REFUND policy:
A skater, who choses to withdraw from a program, within four weeks of the start of the program is eligible to receive a refund of 50% or account credit of 100% of their registration fees ONLY. The start of a program is defined as the first on-ice session. Please notify the Club via email at tavistockskatingclub@yahoo.ca. Upon committee review, the Registrar will confirm refunded total and mailing address of the member (if cheque is being issued). The Treasurer will issue a cheque for refund OR establish a credit via a gift card on Uplifter.

There are some exceptions:

If a program or session cannot continue due to a skater’s withdrawal without medical reason, then no refund will be issued.
No refunds will be given after the four-week grace period, UNLESS accompanied by a medical certificate. These refunds will be entitled to a pro-rated refund.
Refunds will not be issued in the off-season sessions UNLESS a medical certificate is provided.
