DRESS REHEARSAL & CARNIVAL INFO - PRECANSKATE & CANSKATE

General Information

• The booth will be open during dress rehearsal & carnival. Please NO food or drink (other than water) in the dressing rooms or while wearing costumes.
• Helmets - must be worn. We have helmet covers as part of each costume. Long hair should be tied back.
• Make-up (optional) - skaters are welcome to wear their own and as part of their group's theme (ex. mouse nose/whiskers, freckles, etc).
• Volunteer sign-up - we could use your help in Canskate dressing rooms, set-up and clean-up! Please sign up using this Sign Up link. Note that volunteers will see their skater's performance - you will escort the skaters to the ice and can watch from the boards. 

Group Information - arrival times, costume information

PreCanSkate - Dinosaurs

• This group skates in the 1st half of the show - they are the very first number!
• Please arrive in base layers - black/navy long sleeve shirt & pants/tights preferred. Costume items (dinosaur body, helmet cover) will go over top of clothing. Mitts will be provided, or skaters can wear their own.
• One parent will accompany their skater and stay with them in the dressing room, help with costume, tie skates. Parents will be able to watch the number. 
• Dress Rehearsal
  • Saturday April 12 - please arrive at 9:30 am
  • pictures (individual & group) will be taken after they skate
• Carnival Day
  • Sunday April 13: First show - please arrive at 12:30 pm; Second show - please arrive at 4 pm

CanSkate Painters and CanSkate Wild West 

• These groups skate in the 1st half of the show
• Please arrive in base layers:
  • Painters - light coloured shirt and dark/black pants (or tights)
  • Wild West - jeans or jean skirts, any shirt. Skaters can also wear their own plaid shirt.
• Mitts will be provided, or skaters can wear their own.
• Dress Rehearsal
  • Saturday April 12 - please arrive at 9:30 am
  • pictures (individual & group) will be taken after they skate
• Carnival Day
  • Sunday April 13: First show - please arrive at 12:30 pm; Second show - please arrive at 4 pm

CanSkate Mickey & Minnie, CanSkate Barbie, and CanSkate 50s Elvis

• These groups skate in the 2nd half of the show
• Please arrive in base layers:
  • Mickey & Minnie - dark/black long-sleeved shirt and dark/black pants (or tights)
  • Barbie - brown (or white) tights; pink/white long-sleeved shirt. 
  • 50s Elvis - Elvis skaters to wear black shirt & any coloured pants/tights; Sock hop dancers to wear brown/white tights, a white shirt and sweater/cardigan
• Mitts will be provided, or skaters can wear their own.
• Dress Rehearsal
  • Saturday April 12 - please arrive at 11 am
  • pictures (individual & group) will be taken after they skate
• Carnival Day
  • Sunday April 13: First show - please arrive at 1:45 pm; Second show - please arrive at 5:15 pm

DRESS REHEARSAL & CARNIVAL INFO - JUNIOR STAR

Dress Rehearsal – Saturday April 12th

• arrival time for this group will be 9:30 AM - you will be in Dressing Room #6
• Dress Rehearsal starts at 10 AM
• we will be taking group & individual photos that day

Carnival Day – Sunday April 13th

• Note - there will be a short practice for the Junior star skaters from 12 - 12:15 on Carnival day.
• First show – skaters to arrive for their practice around 11:45 am (practice at 12 PM) (first show begins at 1 PM)
• Second show – skaters to arrive at 4 PM (show begins at 4:30 PM)

ALL Junior Star SKATERS: 

• Hair - please have your hair in a low slicked synchro bun

• Make-up - you are welcome to wear make-up, if you'd like

• Wear your base layers:

  • princesses - beige skating tights & coordinating/light long-sleeved shirt. Costume provided - dress, tiara.

  • knights - black pants/tights, black long-sleeved shirt. Costume provided - tunic, belt, sword & shield.

  • Queens - beige skating tights, black long-sleeved shirt. Costume provided - black skirt, cape, crown, scepter.

  • Jester - beige tights & coordinating/light long-sleeved shirt. Costume provided - jester hat, green body suit & skirt, cape.

• Food - The booth will be open, and pizza will be sold between shows (while quantities last)

• Reminder – no food in the dressing rooms or while wearing costumes

• Volunteers still needed - please look for the email with the sign up genius link. Note that volunteers will see their skater's performance - you will escort the skaters to the ice and can watch from the boards. 

CARNIVAL INFO - SYNCHRO TEAMS

Photo Day - Sunday April 6th

• we will be taking group & individual pictures for the following numbers
• note - Blacklight 1 & 2 group photos will be taken before they skate for dress rehearsal (group photo only)

ALL Star ABC SKATERS: 

• PLEASE have your hair in a low slicked bun

• Bring:

• • Beige skating tights

  • Black pants and shirt for black light number

  • Undergarments of your choice 

Dressing Rooms:

• Star A - Dressing Room #4
• Star B - Dressing Room #5
• Star C - Dressing Room #3

DRESS REHEARSAL – Saturday April 12th

• Dress Rehearsal will run from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

• The booth will be open during dress rehearsal

CARNIVAL DAY – Sunday April 13th

• Practice schedule:

• 11:30 - 11:45 AM Blacklight 1

• 11:45 - 12 Noon Blacklight 2

• Arrival time - for your blacklight practice; all other STAR skaters arrive by 12 noon

• Show times: 1 PM and 4:30 PM

• Food

• The booth will be open, and pizza will be sold between shows (while quantities last)

• Star skaters are welcome to hang out in the upper hall between shows.

• Reminder – no food in the dressing rooms or while wearing costumes

• Carnival order – please see below for the carnival order. There are a few Star skaters who have ‘tight changes’ between their numbers. We will need parent volunteers to help in dressing rooms and will be sending out a sign-up genius link soon!
