PLANS FOR THE 2021-22 SEASON, INCLUDING REGISTRATION
posted Aug 28, 2021, 3:29 PM
Dear skating families,
We are pleased to let you know that the Tavistock & District Skating Club is planning to run skating programs for the 2021-2022 season! Our goal is to provide recreation for our youth this season through quality Skate Canada programming. We are also committed to keeping costs as affordable as possible for families. Given the continually evolving health situation, we will be following the guidelines for our sport as set by Skate Ontario, Skate Canada and Public Health.
The schedule for our regular skating programs will look similar to last year, however there are fewer restrictions with respect to numbers on the ice. Our volunteer executive members are working hard to get everything in place and doing their best to make things work for everyone (skaters, families, and coaches). Our registration website will be ready for September 1st. We will be running an 11 or 12-week Fall/Winter Session for CanSkate and STAR Skate beginning in September, followed by a subsequent 12-week session beginning in December. Reminders
Prior to registering, we recommend that you look at the following information on our website:
- Registration Information for this season
- COVID protocols, including the Skate Ontario Waiver, and resources
- Registration forms (Rowan’s Law Acknowledgement & Skate Ontario waiver). NEW this year – these forms will be a part of the registration and will not need to be printed. You will need to scroll through the whole policy in order to continue with registration.
For skaters who have a credit from last season, credits are already in Uplifter. Please remember to check off to use any credits your skater may still have when doing registration.
Program Assistants Needed!
With the reduced restrictions on numbers, we anticipate an increase in CanSkate Session registrants and we need your help! Anyone interested in becoming a Program Assistant is asked to reach out to our CanSkate Coordinator, Blake Patterson at blake-patterson@hotmail.com. Skaters should be a minimum of 10 years of age and will earn volunteer hours or credits toward registration.
We hope everyone is staying healthy & well. We hope to see many of you at the arena very soon.
